Exploring the Sora Highlands – Patria Italia Project

POST BY OLIVER WOLFE

One of the best parts of working in the real estate business is discovering wonderful, new opportunities.  Every day in Panama it feels like I get in a car and drive to a stunning property unlike anything I’ve seen before.  From luxury penthouses and modern homes to beachfront condos and mountain hobby farms, the properties in Panama are varied and, frankly, gorgeous.

So of course I said yes when David Bayliss, one of our consultants, asked me to come take photos of a new development up in Sora.  With recent Bocas transfer Tico Socarraz along for the ride, the three of us drove the twenty minutes into the mountains, just shy of Altos del Maria, to see this new project.

There, we met Alexis Botacio of Botacio Properties.  The company has three projects: on the beaches in Farallon and Playa Corona, and in the mountains at Sora.

“Our project was developed thinking on the professional family man who seeks a refuge from daily city life,” Alexis told us, “so we created a family-oriented development placed on the beautiful Sora mountains, full with life and vegetation.”

The Sora Highlands project is a mountainside development that looks to be a perfect fit for many looking for an affordable second home.  With well-constructed homes priced under the $200,000 range, the project should be a bustling community sooner rather than later.

Alexis showed us through one of the homes under construction as he explained the selling points of his project.  He described the several different models the company havs available, and he made clear that a client can also sit down with the architects to create a model from scratch that caters to their desires.  With the fog rolling down the mountains as a backdrop, it was hard to question the beauty of the location.  David, Tico and I walked away impressed with the operation as a whole.

If you are looking for an affordable-yet-quality home here in Panama, whether as a vacation spot or retirement location, I suggest you check out the Sora Highlands project.
